Terms and conditions

Disclaimer:

M-braced provides complementary therapies, which are not a substitute for medical treatments or interventions. These therapies are provided by “the therapist”.

The recipient of these therapies is referred to as “the client”.

M-braced will never diagnose medical conditions or prescribe medication or any other form of medical treatment or intervention.

M-braced will always recommend referral to a GP or other medical specialist where the client’s presentation appears to necessitate this. The responsibility for acting on such a recommendation rests entirely with the client.

The client has a duty to provide accurate and up to date medical information to M-braced, and in particular to notify M-braced of any changes in their medical condition or treatment which occur between complementary therapy sessions.  M-braced should be informed of any such changes prior to booking further treatments.

Responsibility for ensuring that the client is medically fit to undergo a complementary therapy rests entirely with the client, who must seek and act on medical advice in the event of any doubt. M-braced cannot be held responsible for the consequences of any failure by the client to act on this requirement.

Before receiving a complementary therapy from M-braced for the first time, all clients must complete a consultation form. This will be sent to the client via email along with payment details. No therapies can be given unless the consultation form is completed, even if the client is, or believes themselves to be in good health.

The primary purpose of completing this form is to enable M-braced to identify whether the client has any medical conditions which could mean that a given complementary therapy is not suitable for the client.

M-braced reserves the right to refuse to carry out or complete a treatment if it becomes apparent before or during the treatment that the client has any medical condition which may put them or the therapist at risk. M-braced will not be liable for any loss in such circumstances.

M-braced reserves the right to refuse to carry out or complete a treatment if it becomes apparent before or during the treatment that the client’s standard of personal hygiene is poor or inappropriate or contagious skin conditions M-braced will not be liable for any loss in such circumstances.

Emotional, psychological or physical violence or abuse will not be tolerated, nor will sexual behaviour. M-braced reserves the right to refuse to carry out or complete a treatment should a client exhibit any of these behaviours. No refunds will be available in such circumstances.

Cancellations and rescheduling:

It is possible to cancel and/or reschedule a booked therapy session up to 24 hours before it is due to take place without incurring any financial penalty. Cancellations, requests to reschedule and failures to attend will be subject to the full fee if less than 24 hours’ notice is given.

Late Arrivals:

It is important that the agreed appointment time and duration is adhered to. In the event that a client arrives late for an appointment, every effort will be made to accommodate the client but this will depend on the workload of the therapist and the timing of subsequent appointments.

Confidentiality:

All client records, consultation forms and any other personal information will be safeguarded by M-braced. Client information will not be shared with anyone except in a situation in which emergency and medical help is required, or where the client specifically requests that such information is shared.

For clients aged 18 years or over, everything which occurs or is discussed during sessions will be confidential and will never be shared with a third party (except in the case of a medical emergency – see above). Clients aged less than 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The parent or guardian will be asked to stay in the room whilst the treatment is performed and will be included in any discussions about the treatment.
